Our Anodised Aluminium solutions are divided into two families:

MetalPhotoBlack plus greytones only photographically sub-surface imaged. UV resistance in excess of 20 years. Foil thin to moderate thicknesses, 8 micron protective anodic layer.
AliChromaFull colour CMYK digitally sub-surface imaged. Medium to low UV resistance, colour and environment dependant. Thin to heavy thicknesses with a 24 micron protective anodic layer.

Why MetalPhoto?

  • For chemical and abrasion resistance the image is embedded below the 8 micron anodic layer.
  • High UV resistance – our unique photographic images survive the toughest environments where 20 year plus* reliability is crucial.
  • Withstands temperatures of -55°C up to 427°C*.
  • *Optional gold chloride intensification treatment boosts UV to extreme and heat resistance to 427°C.
  • Laser or die cut in standard or custom sizes and shapes.
  • Available in a range of gauges from foil thin to robust self-supporting.
  • All gauges, or combination of gauges can be laminated back to back to create two sided tags.
  • Laminate any gauge to 3 or 4mm aluminium, powder coated or mill finish for additional strength.
  • Background colours added by bath dyeing or digital overprinting for spot colour.
  • Ideal for laser or rotary engraved marking, traditional stamping or dot peen marking.

Which MetalPhoto?

0.08mm | Satin or Matte finish

  • Great for die-cutting, this foil thin gauge forms to flat or curved surfaces.
  • Combined with the 3M range of adhesives this is the ultimate in adhesive performance.
  • Tamper proof. The adhesive power of 3M makes removal impossible without destruction – perfect for asset tracking.
  • Super low profile with radius corners resists picking or snagging.
  • Mark on site to leave a permanent de-bossed detail – a date, model, ratings etc with just a ball point pen.

0.13mm | Satin

  • This low profile this gauge is the perfect in-betweener if 0.08mm is feeling too thin for your application.
  • Forms to a gentle curve or flat surface. Easy to de-boss mark on site.

0.20mm | Satin or Matte finish

  • Lightweight, low profile, but robust enough to resist rips and scuffs.
  • Forms easily to a gentle curve, pre-forming is recommended for tighter curves.
  • Our best priced anodised product.

0.30mm | Satin finish

  • The great all-rounder, general purpose gauge well suited to most applications.
  • Our lightest gauge suitable for mechanical attachment using screws or rivets etc.

0.50mm | Satin or Matte finish

  • Perfect for ID and rating plates where variable user information will be fibre laser marked or rotary engraved.
  • Suitable for mechanical attachment using screws or rivets etc, usually with a 3M self-adhesive for added security.
  • Pre-forming is required for curved surfaces.

0.80mm | Satin or Matte finish

  • The heavy duty solution where variable user information will be stamped or dot peen marked.
  • Self-supporting for when light structural integrity is required.
  • Stays flat when fixed with rivets or screws for maximum security.
  • Capable of taking a real beating in high demand industrial environments.
