We’ve combined the durability and exceptional print clarity of our MetalPhoto product to create the Bush, Bird & Bug range of Botanic Labels. MetalPhoto endures long-term exposure to full sun, abrasion, paint and chemicals because the image is protected by the glass clear, sapphire hard anodic layer. Even after decades in the bush a gentle wipe removes any moss or dirt. Print colour is restricted to black plus greytones. Schools and Forest and Bird members receive a 10% discount on Bush, Bird & Bug labels.
A detailed illustration with carefully researched text describes range, habit and traditional uses. Our ever expanding catalogue of illustrated labels includes over 400 species of flora and fauna with a focus on New Zealand natives. To select from our catalogue click the download button, or to supply the text click here.
Ours is a growing collection, growth we stimulate by subsidising the cost of adding unlisted species. So if you can’t find it just let us know and where possible we’ll add it. We use the commissioned illustrations of artist Sonia Frimmel, with independently researched text.
Maybe our catalogue text is not quite right for you, or accurate in your region. Simply email us the text you'd prefer (maximum 45 words) in Microsoft 'Word' or 'Excel'. We can even add a sponsors logo or acknowledge contributors to your project. Print colour is black plus greytones only, we will provide you with a proof copy for approval.
For smaller gardens (or budgets!) we offer JustText labels in most our standard sizes. To supply us your text in .xls or .doc format click here.
A Durable print is nothing without a dependable system for display. Our TuphMounts compliment any environment, from mature bush to the shallow soils of a rockery. The printed labels are pre-laminated, you just need to dig or drill a hole. If you plan to mount your labels on timber the label is printed on thicker aluminium with holes punched.
Displaying and protecting our larger 194x294 labels we've got the toughest-of-them-all, Marion. A welded top brace protects the craggy brow from windblown dust and dirt as well as adding some back-bone. Backing up Marion to display our 100x200 labels there’s the slightly lighter, but still very tough Clint, then Arnie who's a bit lighter up top and leaner in the leg. For our smaller JustText labels Bruce, Brad or Tom are guaranteed to keep your labels safe from harm. Short, good-looking, and well capable of taking a beating, Tom is ideal for rockery, bed or pot.
As you'd expect, both Marion and Clint have a thicker, longer leg, rugged 4mm face plate and they’re packing three anchor rods each. All the TuphMounts are welded, powder coated black aluminium. The bevelled face plate has no sharp corners and is slightly oversize to protect the labels edge.
The easy to mount solution for mature trees, all you need is a drill and a hammer. A tension spring holds the face plate off the bark to allow for growth, reduce movement and minimise scuffing. If you double the spikes, you triple the strength, a second spike is optional for all SpikeSets. Xena is at the top of the Tuphlist of SpikeSets with a 4mm faceplate and a welded top brace.
The DIY marking system, with deBoss you are de boss. Make your own permanently embossed tags and row markers with nothing more than a ballpoint pen and a steady hand. For a semi-permanent marking, felt-tip will wipe off with solvent, combine biro and felt tip - use them year after year.
